Tonight's "hot topic" was sexual harassment in the workplace.
This is a huge topic these days, especially for those who live in New York State (like Amy). The hosts shared some experiences, and also the need for when there is an accusation, that both sides are heard, and investigations are thorough. Too many times people blame the victim, and sometimes, not all victims, are that. It's a sad day when someone lies about being hurt or worse, just to get even. Not all victims lie, and not all tell the truth. There are two sides to every story, and then, there's the truth, which could be some where in between.
If you're a victim, report it, to whoever you feel will listen and be able to do something about it. Also, if someone tries to harass you, or invades your personal space without permission, tell them no. They may not always stop, but at least you told them to. Sometimes that's all they need to hear to realize what they have done, or that they made you feel uncomfortable. Of course, saying no is not always easy to do, but if you can speak, say it.
